Small Employers Are Ready To Embrace HSA Plans, But Broker Involvement Is Critical
The nation's small-business owners — ravaged by years of double-digit rate hikes — could turn to HSA-based plans in droves in 2006.But insurance agents and brokers — typically the only source of information for small employers — could hinder adoption rates if they fail to understand the fundamentals of HSA-based plans.

Once brokers and agents understand the benefits of HSAs through first-hand experience, they are more likely to promote them to their clients, Koch explains. "Employers aren't going to [understand] this on their own."
